FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you come.

Honest answers to the questions that come back — including the ones you might not always dare to ask.

Do I need any prior experience to join a class?

No, none at all. The beginners' class is designed to start Ashtanga from scratch: we build the foundations of the first series, the ujjayi breath and the rhythm, step by step.

How does a first class unfold?

You're welcomed before we begin and walked through the flow, then you practise at your own pace. Even in a group, you receive individual adjustments.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothing, water and, ideally, your own mat. Arrive a few minutes early and practise on a light stomach (2 to 3 hours after a meal).

Can I join if I already practise elsewhere?

Yes. What matters is your consistency: the teacher tailors the corrections to your practice and your body.

The Institute · Brussels

Practice is built day after day.

Ashtanga is transmitted through regularity: you come, roll out your mat, progress at your own pace, each posture adjusted individually — even in a group class. Beginner or experienced, there is a place for you.
