This room was not fitted out to be rented. It was built around a practice: the floor, the warmth, the air, the orientation — each answers precise requirements inherited from the teaching of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
That is why it suits some uses very well, and others not at all. We would rather say so now than let you find out on the day.
What the room offers
50 m² on the ground floor. No stairs, no transmitted vibration, direct contact with the ground. The siting was the subject of a geobiological study.
Solid oak parquet laid on joists. Finished with a non-toxic organic oil that lets the wood breathe. Laid on joists, it absorbs impact slightly: neither the hardness of a slab nor the instability of a springy floor.
Water-based underfloor heating. A gentle, even warmth that does not dry the air — and none of the electromagnetic fields of electric systems.
Filtered air. Medical-grade HEPA filtration, and micro-ventilation that adjusts air renewal to the humidity it detects. For any work where breathing matters, this changes a great deal.
Quiet. The room is in a house, on a calm street in Uccle. It is not a floor above a shop.
And around it: changing rooms, a shower room, a reception room, a kitchenette, a mattress cupboard and a library. Your participants arrive, change, settle in and leave without crossing each other in a corridor.
Who it suits
- Meditation, seated or walking, in small groups.
- Traditional bodywork — shiatsu, do-in, qi gong, breathing work, manual therapies that need calm and a clean surface.
- Yoga teachers starting out, looking for a fitting place for their first classes rather than a multipurpose room by the hour.
- Study workshops: anatomy, philosophy, Vedic chant, textual study.
- Practitioners working one to one, when the setting matters as much as the gesture.
We do not host amplified music, dance or fitness classes, or activities requiring heavy equipment. That is no judgement on those disciplines: it is the floor, the acoustics and the neighbours speaking.
How it works
There is no online booking, and there will not be. We cannot tell from a form whether your practice and this room belong together. Neither can you. So we begin by talking.
- You write. Tell us what you do, for how many people, and how often you imagine coming. The form below is enough.
- We talk. By phone or in person, whichever suits you. That is when we discuss possible times and terms.
- You come and see the room. Always before committing. One does not rent a yoga room from a photograph.
- If it feels right on both sides, we settle things together.
Terms are discussed case by case: they are not the same for a monthly meditation sitting and for a practitioner coming every week. That is why no price is listed here — not out of reluctance, but because a figure on its own would mean nothing.
Let's talk about your project
A few lines are enough. The more you tell us about your practice, the more useful our answer will be.
