with Viṣṇu and Śiva, Brahmā composes the Trimūrti. Brahmā, the God of Creation, emerged from of a lotus that grew out of the navel of Viṣṇu as he rests on the Primordial waters. Brahmā is depicted with four heads, the fifth was cut by Śiva, he is found on the northern wall of temples. He sometimes carries the books of the Vedas. His véhicule is a goose (hamsa) or a swan.
