Welcome to Greece, one of the most emblematic lands of the Mediterranean basin, where the sea, the mountains and the light seem to have been in dialogue for millennia.
This week of practice is an invitation to deepen Ashtanga Yoga in an environment steeped in history, symbols and founding narratives. Between the yogic tradition and the Greek heritage, the stay offers a time of study, practice and discovery, in a setting conducive to self-observation and inner transformation.
Whether you are discovering Ashtanga Yoga or have been practising for several years, this immersion will nourish your practice while introducing you to one of the great lands of Western philosophy.
The spirit of the seminar
Learn, deepen and share
This session is designed as a time of study and intensive practice, open to all levels.
The aim is not merely to accumulate hours of practice, but to create the conditions for a deeper understanding of the method transmitted by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
Each participant is supported according to their experience:
- beginners discover the foundations of the method;
- regular practitioners deepen their understanding of the Vinyāsa;
- advanced practitioners refine their work with the Bandha, the breath and the rhythm;
- teachers observe the pedagogy and the adjustments offered to students.
The meaning of the journey
Athens: between mythology and inner quest
Greece holds a special place in the Western imagination.
Like India, it gave birth to founding narratives meant to illuminate the human being’s relationship with the world, with nature and with themselves.
Throughout the stay, the landscapes, the ancient remains and the mythological stories become supports for inner reflection.
Apollo, symbol of fire and light.
Poseidon, master of the waters.
Athos, the sacred mountain.
So many figures that evoke the forces moving through us — forces that the practice of yoga gradually seeks to harmonise.
This cultural and philosophical dimension is an integral part of the experience offered by the Institute.
