What to Do on the Island of Andros

Andros, one of the largest and most fertile islands of the Cyclades, is spared by mass tourism. Rare among the Greek islands, it has many springs and streams — hence very green valleys, criss-crossed by trails between vines and fruit trees. Its architecture is distinctive: large neoclassical houses with tiled roofs.

A paradise for hikers

A well-developed network of trails lets you explore the island. Our hosts Sophia and Dimitri, very welcoming, will suggest many excursions. Not to be missed: the village of Chora, the west-coast beaches, the monasteries of Agios Nikolaos and Panachrantou, and the picturesque villages with their maze of paved lanes.

The beach

The sand is pleasant, the sea transparent and fairly calm (at Easter the water is still a little cool!). Give yourself over to the blue of the Aegean, to hikes, to massage and osteopathy, to meetings… or simply stay on the beach doing nothing.
