It is presented as an internal attitude, a moment of change, and a gateway rite, which goes from profane time to sacred time. It tries to produce a reversal of the senses, which in profane time are turned towards exteriority, to the sacred time of interiority in order to reach the feeling of unity with oneself.

It is a time dedicated to the awakening of internal life in the heart of who is practicing.

After the agitation of the profane world, this time allows to find ” immobility, rest, peace, silence ” from Greek ἡσυχασμός, hesychasmos ” to be in peace, to keep silent ” and from Greek ἡσυχάζω, hesychadzo. It aims at the peace of mind.
