The capital of the state is Chennai (formerly Madras), the language is Tamoul or Tamil and belongs to the Dravidian family of languages, one of the oldest languages and hasn’t changed for 2000 years. The main explication of this situation it has never been influenced by Aryan, Muslim nor Mughal invasions from the north. It became the cradle of the Dravidian civilization where its architecture has been able to flourish without constraint as the arts sculpture, music, painting, le Yoga, etc.
