DakshinaChitra is a living-history museum devoted to the heritage and culture of South India: folk performing arts, crafts, architecture and many artists’ exhibitions.
An open-air museum
A non-profit run by the Madras Craft Foundation, open to the public since December 1996, the centre occupies ten rolling hectares overlooking the Bay of Bengal at Muttukadu.
