Lanza del Vasto

he was of Sicilian origin, was born September 29, 1901 in Italy and died January 5, 1981 in Spain. He is the first Christian disciple of Mahātmā Gandhi. Staunch adept of the moral force of non-violence, poet, artist and great Yogi, he founded on his return from India the Community of the Ark, a replica of Gandhian Ashrams. For many years, Jean Claude has given seminars on Ashtanga Yoga in the various communities of the Ark in France, Italy and India.
