Namaskar or Namasté

means “greeting”, but this phrase has a deeper religious, spiritual meaning, “I bow before the divine in you”, “I salute the divine in you”. Depending on the position of the hands, the symbolism is different :

• Joined hands flat on the top of the head, we greet God
• Hands in front of the face, we greet the spiritual leader Guru
• Hands in front of the chest, we greet our friends, our fellow creatures.
