it”s a town located at a distance of 130 km from Mahābalipuram and of 185 km from Chennai. This nice pilgrimage place is famous throughout India because of the presence of the Annamalaiyar Temple dedicated to Śiva, the sacred hill of Aruṇācala (820m altitude) and the many ashrams including Sri Ramana Maharshi who died in 1950, considered one of the greatest saints of the twentieth century.
