See Shore Temple

this worldwide renowned temple is located in Mahābalipuram (Mamallapuram) on the shores of the Coromandel Coast eputation is partially eroded due to salty winds from the ocean. The temple suffered during twelve centuries from its location on the shore, but is now protected from wind erosion by a hedge and from the erosion of the waves by boulders. It is an important archaeological site and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.
