One of India’s seven sacred cities<\/strong> (its name comes from `Puram`<\/strong>: city, and `Kanchi`<\/strong>: gold, which makes Kanchipuram, `the golden city`<\/strong>), it was the capital of the Pallava dynasty for several centuries. Also known as `the city of 1000 temples`, of which one can still find about one hundred – witnesses of its history – whose walls seem to be singing mantras.
